My favorite sound...

At the end of the day (hopefully after we have already put Paisley to bed for the night) a noise can be heard in my kitchen that always makes bedtime so much better... it starts with the opening of a cupboard and the clank of two bowls hitting the counter top. Next the clinking of spoons being pulled from the silverware drawer followed by the opening of the freezer and usually two to three cartons of ice cream being dropped on the counter. Why two to three cartons for just two people? Blake always wants a mixture of two flavors and usually the flavor I pick is different than either of those. (If you peeked in my freezer every time you came over, you would always find at least two different flavors of ice cream - usually three or four.) To say "I love Ice Cream" is an understatement - most people love ice cream.

I have a small obsession with it! It has some serious nostalgic background stemming from daily childhood memories. When all 8 of us kids lived at home, I remember each night my parents gathering us for family scrips. and prayer. As soon as the "Amens" were uttered, a chorus of "what's for treat?" could be heard echoing through the house. Being the youngest, I probably found the most joy is the daily ritual and still to this day can hear "What's for treat?" in my head after I say my nightly "Amen." Lucky for me, I found Blake - A fellow connoisseur of ice cream. The majority of our time spent dating was usually over a bowl of BYU Creamery or on special occasions Leatherbee's finest. The best gift Blake ever gave me was an ice cream scoop on Valentine's Day. Our dorm desperetly needed one but we were all too cheap to buy one so we kept bending our cheap-o silverware scooping out the ice cream from the carton.

Thank goodness for a boy who understands the importance of ice cream!

Tillamook Udderly Chocolate Brown Cow Ice Cream - If I had to pick a favorite this would be it.

Same nightly ritual at my house. However your brother claims he had too much ice cream growing up and now his treat is 2 warm chocolate chip cookies and milk. I however will always go for the ice cream, if Monte doesn't make me feel too guilty for eating it. I love Tilamok but good ol Iowa doesn't have it. Poor me! Great Post.

The word Ice-cream and Cyndi just go together so beautifully. I remember those good old days. I remember when I ate your icecream after you came back from a hard day of class. I snuck out and ran to go buy you more before the creamery closed and you chased me down. It was so good seeing you guys on the fourth!

That was the funniest thing I have read in a long time! I had no idea you were such a ice cream lover! I must admit, I am not much of an ice cream person, EXCEPT when I am pregnant, its wierd. Just the other night we ran out and I made Michael go to the store at 10:30 at night to get more. hehe. Thats so cute too about your ice cream scoop! Fun memories!
