5 Years!

Blake and I enjoyed a "real" date of dinner and a movie to celebrate our 5 year anniversary yesterday! We went and saw Avatar 3D which we also saw opening day and I would go back and see it right now. It is amazing! Go watch it - it is worth the $20+ for tickets and $20 for the babysitter... which I never thought was possible.

Anyways, last night I told Blake "You make being married easy." Which he replied "You make being married... um, fun." I know I don't make it easy but I am glad that he at least considers it fun!

This is probably the most random picture but here is the story of it... I was in my BYU Beginner Ceramics class and we were assigned to make a bust of an important person in our lives. Being a newly married lovebird, of course I made Blake. We had to include symbolism in our project - so if you look closely you can see that he is coming out of a book because he is always reading. The tie has a lightening blot, the planet Dune, and a ring on it to represent some of his favorite books. His top button is fastened because he always wore his shirts buttoned to the top and it made him mad when I would unbutton it. His nose looks huge and broken because I have a weird obsession with "manly-looking" noses and I love his. His eyes are closed to represent his lack of emotion and his mouth is in the signature half-smile that he always gave me and my roommates when we were being goofy. Anyways, this lovely piece of art didn't make the cut for the move so I had to document it since even though Blake never really cared for it - I liked it!

P.S. Lots of people confused it with a depiction of Joesph Smith - haha

You are too funny - well it is a little hard to fathom that it has been 5 years since the last Anderson became a Taylor - and i have almost reconciled it in my own mind. Although there are times when i walk upstairs i still turn to the right to your old room to say good night only to realize i have to turn left now.
Keep the marraige "fun" - its worth it! -pops

That's quite impressive work, actually! Any kind of sculpture is really hard to do in my opinion! I like all the symbolism!

That is hilarious. Love all the symbolism. Great idea to document such a priceless treasure that "doesn't make the moving cut." That's too funny.
